In an effort to expand the visitors' experience of The Mount beyond the main house to the surrounding grounds, the Edith Wharton Restoration, Inc. has restored the once badly damaged carriage house, shown; has begun repainting shutters and trim along the main house; and has begun to carve trails and install seating in previously unused land, among other things, on the estate in Lenox.
